Our wonderful customers wanted to install a floor as close to the original for their gorgeous span house in Blackheath. We installed solid, unfinished, five-finger oak parquet then to emulate the original colour we stained with an exotic wood stain and finished with a protective oil. Our customer had a vision. Mixing planks and herringbone in the same stain to achieve two zoned areas a border to the front room that then connects the spaces. Looks completely amazing. Swooning over this recent installation of tumbled block parquet. The solid staves (blocks) are distressed by putting them in a huge industrial tumbler giving the appearance of an aged or original floor. The parquet comes unfinished so can be stained to your requirements. Our customer was at first concerned the look might be too formal for her taste but a floor like this becomes the most beautiful foundation that works just as well in traditional or contemporary settings. This is a recent installation of our @wearewoodpecker Goodrich Coffee Oak. With a slightly darker stain than the natural oiled it looks mellow, warm and rich.
